These are a series of piano songs about grief written for children. I originally composed them eleven years ago, and they were performed two years after that by Ta-Wei Tsai. But I failed to record them myself until last Fall, a decade later.

In the meantime, they've cracked and picked up detritus in my memory. Some are tearing themselves apart into strands. Others have become so weighed down by plaque to be nearly unrecognizable. I can't repair them.

Ghosts have taken root in their scores.
